A Conversation for Hammer Stars
Ingrid Pitt

While doing research into the Berlin Wall, my colleague found an interview with Ingrid Pitt that we were unfortunately unable to use. She said that she was in an East German production of 'Mother Courage' when news of the wall reached her. Fearing she'd be arrested, she left the play mid-way through the performance and, still in her 'Mother Courage' costume, leapt into a river and swap to the other side, where she was rescued by an American soldier and taken to safety.
And of course, dear reader - she married him!

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
