I agree, nice article (not sure about the Picadilly part ...)
Having been raised Catholic, I think this movie scared both my wife and I as much as any movie could. Although I'm not sure she saw much of it through her hands over her eyes. 
And I have to say "Repossessed" was an inspired title for the humorous spoof ...
