my estate has started to hesitate when pulling away and i have been told it might need the autobox bands tightening does any one know how to do this and what the correct torque should be?many thanks

I suggest the best place to ask might be the volvo owners club message board (www.volvoclub.org.uk) or on usenet - there's a volvo owners' NG.
Sadly, I don't know the answer. Mine's only done 150,000 miles, so not an issue yet.
