A Conversation for Granny Smith Apples

I grew up in Oklahoma City, Okla., USA, the state just north of Texas. I recall walking home from the public swimming pool as a kid and passing a large tree full of small, hard green apples which, of course, we ate (and threw at each other). That climate doesn't seem to match the description in the entry - pretty dry, with cold winters (0 F) and hot summers (100 F). But I'm pretty sure they were Granny Smiths, I don't know of any other small, hard green apple.

Hmm... Youre right, it doesnt match the climate... There are a few different kinds of green apples, theyre just not wide spread. Must have been either one of those or some sort of Granny Smith mutt.
