We all seem to have an inbuilt "sense of direction" which is stronger in some people than in others. When visiting London a few years ago and trying to navigate using an A-Z (street directory), I found that my Australian sense of direction would often cause me to head in the opposite direction to where I wanted to go!

I agree, I think we do have an inbuilt 'sense of direction'.

But London has a very random street layout, whereas most Aussie cities have neat little grids, so that might not have helped smiley - smiley

Then again, I found Lima confusing, and that's mostly a grid-pattern.
