A Conversation for The Basics of Double Entry Book-keeping
credit and debit explained.

I started a correspondence course this weekend on Book-keeping. However, although I thought I was reasonably intelligent, I stumbled at the first stage when trying to get my head round the meaning of credit and debit. I'd always understood that credit is money coming into an account,(my bank for eg) and debit, money leaving the account.
Anyway, this is just to say thankyou. This explanation of credit and debit has really helped. Although, to be honest, I still find i'm having to really think carefully when i'm studying. It's very hard to try and swop round two words' meaning. A bit like someone saying tall now means short and short means tall! Now i'm confused! Anyway, thanks again. I'll get there in the end.
