I found the movie enjoyable and so did my little one (four years old at time of writing) whos sat enraptured for the entire showing.
While I agree that it could have been done better we must all remember it is a kids movie based on a kids book; not a book written for parents to read to their little darlings but one they would read themselves. On the whole the pre-release hype has ruined the experience for many who have been to see both the Harry Potter movies and the LOTR movies (which I thought were fantastic).

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
