The sound advice given in your article would stand true, word for word, for handling couriers in Auckland, New Zealand ! The cars, motorcycles and vans are usually in a better shape than the cars described here, but everything else is totally applicable to them. The motorcycles, especially, are quite powerful Honda CBRs and BMW F 650 Dakars and are known to hunt down poor pedestrians for mid-day snacks.
Also, to the list of symptoms of psychotic and anti-social behaviour, add parking in the middle of the road during rush hour.
