A Conversation for Cider

Post 1

Scrumpy is NOT ROUGH CIDER and don't believe anyone who says so. All it means is that it is cider that is "fresh", i.e. just finished fermenting. If it is rough it just means that its not any good, not that its scrumpy.

Just to note -one of the best Cider farms I've ever come across so far is Sheppy's inbetween Taunton and Wellington in Somerset. They've got a huge range of ciders from Scrumpy to Vintage and Single Apple ciders.

Has anyone tried mulled cider? Pretty much the same as mulled wine - make sure you use dark brown sugar, good brandy and lots of cinnamon amongst the spices. Really good warming stuff.
