The Beeb news-site is getting in on the act today, too:

Well, some of us are currently sporting all-over tans, having recently returned from a trip to Studlands.
Hint- if visiting Studlands, don't wander off into the dunes unless you're male and want male attention.

Ref the bit about nudists having nowhere to keep their change, this reminds me of when I was in Berlin. Many of the public parks in Berlin are 'naturist friendly'. On my return to the UK, that very same weekend one of the Sunday colour supplements carried an article about the nauturist parks in Berlin. They claimed that a current craze (at the time) was for naturists to raft down river into the centre of Berlin (on old tyres etc etc) and then cartch the bus to return to their clothes. What upset the bus conductors, apparently, wasn't nude people on their buses bu, but the fact that they couldn't pay their fare as they had no pockets to store their change.
We used to go to Studland quite frequently until Mrs BIGAL until we were waved at by some guy in the dunes. I naively waved back whereupon the guy caught up with us and then started saying how pretty Mrs BIGAL was blah, blah, blah. In the end we had to be rude to him to get rid of him. We are now a bit reluctant to go to Studland
There is also a camp site nearby (whose name I can't recall off-hand) which does accept naturists on occasions. I don't believe they accept them throughout the whole summer.
Also, in the USA (or it might be Canada) there is an organisation which promotes 'TopFreedom' for women. i.e. any where where men are permitted to go 'topfree, women should be allowed also. I don't believe there is a UK branch of this.

You're all right at Studlands in the middle and right-hand ends of the beach, it's the dunes and the left end that can be dodgy. Having said that, I've never had any trouble, and it's a very family friendly area.

Yes, I agree - it is very family-friendly. We used to go when the children were young. It's when we were without the children that we encountered the problem. It also hasppened quite close to the path which goes from the beach to the road (where lots of people park their cars; so I would classify this as being in the middle of the beach. Also, on one occasion when we returned to the car, somebody had left a leaflet giving a website number for 'studlandblue. com' or something similar. This sounded (looked?) a bit dodgy, so I never visited the site to see what it was about.
We haven't been to Studland this year yet.

John the gardener says, "Free Tibet!" Posted Aug 9, 2004
BIGAL1, toplessness is now legal for both men and women in Ontario, Canada. Someone challenged the constitutionality of discriminating against women a few (4 or 5 ?) years ago. As far as I can tell, not many women choose to exercise their legal prerogative to take their tops off in public though... except the ones who undress professionally.
Actually, now that I think of it, there were some very enterprising young women who took advantage of the new law to bare their breasts and make a bit of money washing car windows in Toronto. The city council (or perhaps the provincial gov.) reacted by outlawing all 'squeegy kids'.

Hmm... interesting. According to that, it's more complicated than I thought. Oh, well. Most of the time it's either too hot or too cold here anyway.

it depends how a person sees others at times a fully dressed person can also be more vulgar than a modest nude

Absolutely glorious day today, so went to Studland for my first visit this year Loads of people there all having a good time, as did Mrs RBA and I. No repeat of previous bad experience so I'm sure I'll be back.
