h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

In the early 1970s I worked at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver Canada. Every day after work (weather permitting) I would venture down a very steep slope to a secluded abeach which is still known as Wrecked Beach. This was perhapos Canada's first Nudist Beach whether "Official" or not. There I would meet people from all walks of life wheter they be Proffessors, Doctors, students, etc. We all happily shed our clothes, had poingant conversations about politics, philosophy Ronald Reagan or simply the weather. I endured many sunburns on parts of my body which had never seen daylight before. Tose days were some of the happiest of my life. Now at the age of 49, I am a great deal more inhibited. I have three daughters who go OOO! when I say I,m takeing my top off in doors because of the heat. Two years ago the Provincial Court of Ontario ruled that any woman may walk about topless whether on a beach or in downtown Toronto. Although I don,t walk about the beach near my house in Rural Ontario, I do seim topless with a sense of liberation. My daughters still remain slightly disgusted abut hopefully by doing this small act of liberation, I will teach them that one's body is a beuatiful thing and you shouldn't be ashamed of it. I only wish that the rest of society would feel the same.

what always amazes me is that nudists almost always wear headgear. even while swimming in the sea. what's that about?
