living in darwin???

I'm a student and I thought I could go one year to Darwin to carry on with my studies. Having read this entry I wonder : is it really a good idea??
Is darwin really that horrible? Is it possible to have a great year in darwin or should I really try to go somewhere else?

Chupito, I'd definitely look for another opinion before cancelling any serious plans. Darwin must have a lot of stuff going for it, not least the thing that attracted you to the idea of going there in the first place.
