A Conversation for Bottle-openers

Another Norwegian nickname for a bottle opener is "Øljekk". "Øl" is beer and "jekk" is jack (as in "automobile tires") in English. You have to literally hoist the cork with the jack to get to the beer, hence "beerjack".
Another piece of completely irrelevant trivia is something a (former) sailor once told me. Nowadays most sailors on Norwegian boats are from low-cost countries (or rather "low-pay" contries). Back when things were different, you were not considered a fully trained sailor until you could open your beer in at least 7 different ways.
A friend of mine used to pretend to open beer with his eye. Just bogus, but quite fun..
