Following William's invasion William became the number one choice of name for boys.
Before William and all that there were no Williams in Britain.
This researcher is from the line of Williams which includes a William Williams.
Williams is a Welsh clan name so it doesn't really mean anything in blue-blood terms.
On the other hand the Welsh Tudors of Anglesey ... as opposed to the current ... mmmm better leave it at that!
