I must warn those who run SETI's number cruncher that it leaves a mark on your monitor if it's up for lengthy periods.

I had the SETI screensaver for several years. It was running for a good portion of the day as I only shut off my computer at night. At the end of 2 years, I found that the purple divider used on the screensaver didn't change and eventually burned an off-white shadow onto my monitor.

The problem is that the divider never moves and that is why it scores the screen. Please be aware that until it is changed to a varied format, it will not be a screen saver. I had to replace the monitor, at least, that's my excuse for getting a 19"...but I'm sticking to it.

I never have seti on my screensaver, I have "blank" screensaver and set seti to "always runs" (I don't even turn my pc off at night)

How many units have you completed?

I just sent off #2343 - or should I say it sent itself, as I'm on broadband now and it doesn't need to dial-up.
