A Conversation for Classic Sporting Moments
Brazilian Football (1950-1982)
Dr Hell Started conversation Dec 5, 2001
Anyone who loves football will agree: Brazilian football between 1950 and 1982) wasn't sport - it was magic. It culminated in 1970 in Mexico, with an all star selection of football wizards. Pelé, Rivelino being just two of the most notorious. In fact these football matches are so beautiful to be viewed, that they are frequently replayed in TV all over the world. (I've seen many here in Germany). These matches are so beautiful, that the fans don't feel hurt by seeing their teams being defeated over and over again.
Before 1950 there are too few well-recorded moments of footbal, and after 1982 Brazilian football (and in my oppinion football in general) seriously suffered with the commercialization of the sport. There are still magic moments, but it's not the same.
