I've been getting a lot of shocks over this christmas period - way more than usual. I put it down to shuffling around in my slippers, or because my jeans are so long they drag on the ground when I'm indoors.
Then I decided to 'fluff up' the dog's new blanket, and as I picked it up I could hear it crackling! Aha! That's where it's coming from! Then my dog rushed over, and I'm not sure if she touched me or the blanket, but she touched one of the other, and I immediately got hit by lots and lots of little shocks on both hands. Ouch! I don't remember anything like that before. One of my hands was tingling for nearly half an hour after that.
These lovely snuggly blankets are made from 100% polyester. No wonder they were cheap, I bet they dry quick after being washed though.

Have you tried some of the tips in the entry? Using hand cream, moisturising your skin, etc? It helps to build a barrier (are your carpets nylon?) Try some cork-backed slippers. Your poor fingers

It seems to have all gone since the big bang. I'm going to wash the blankets in lots of fabric conditioner, to make sure it doesn't come back.
I thought it was odd, as I've been making sure I pick my feet up, and that's been working for a long time. I couldn't understand why it started again so badly.
