Blues Shark - For people who like this sort of thing, then this is just the sort of thing they'll like

Little Nemo is something of a lost classic in comic terms. I really enjoyed this article, and I hope it does encourage people to look at McCay's work, as he is one of the most important figures in comics history.

Glad you liked the entry. It has always baffled my why Nemo, and McCay's work in general, is often overlooked. Certainly he was one of the finest draftsmen to work in the comics. His animated films were unmatched until the glory days of Disney.

What next? Krazy Kat and Ignatz? Or Pogo, which I'm glad to say is back in print at last? Or Eisner? Now there's a man who we all owe a huge debt to...smiley - smiley

I've already done Krazy. Pogo is a good idea; Walt Kelly worked at Disney. Eisner? Um...

Is that an Um of no knowledge of Eisner or some other type of Um?smiley - biggrin
Eisner's Spirit is *probably* the single most influential strip ever produced. Without wanting to stretch the point too far, I'd think I would describe it as The Citizen Cane of comics...

And I shall have to go and look at the Kat thing. It is one *way* cool strip.smiley - cheers

You got it right first time; I know almost nothing about Eisner's work. Wiser heads than mine shall have to undertake the job.
I might try tackling Lyonel Feininger's strips - Wee Willie Winkie's World and The Kin-der-kids. They were short-lived, but lovely to look at. I'll have to do more research first.

Yep. I have a soft spot for Neal Adams and his "Deadman", too.

My father was a 'POGO' freak. I picked some of that up.

I have the recent reissues of the first six MADs.

I really like 'Bone'.
