I'm in the process of applying, as it happens, so this is all pretty relevant... interested in hearing words of wisdom about the american experience.

Well, I'm applying right now, too. I just got my acceptance from Purdue and I'm waiting on Rose-Hulman. At Purdue, the first thing they do after your acceptance is ask you for a housing deposit. Then you get another mailing for a deposit that says "You are going to this school" (it probably has a real name, but oh well). All I can say is get your checkbook ready!
