Just a question. This sentence seems to repeat itself: "Various problems with vision and eyesight can result from the condition." Is there a pointed difference between vision and eyesight in this case?

Thanks,

That looks fine, Emily! Thanks for your time. My dictionary gives eyesight as 'the power of seeing', while vision is 'the act of seeing', a small distinction, perhaps, but I think also a valid one. Do you agree? Thanks again for your efforts! smiley - biggrinsmiley - cheers

You can call me TC

The entry is really perfect for H2G2 - not too heavy, but giving a little more insight than one normally would have into the subject and raising and answering a few questions that might cross the lay person's mind.

The only thing I miss is a reference to the fact that the word comes from "alba" which means white in Latin (for example, the white of an egg is called the albumen)

Thanks for the input, Trillian's child, that wasn't something I was aware of. Incidentally, Alba is also the gaelic word for 'Scotland'.
