G'day,
As a nipper in Geelong, Australia I was terrified of seeing my doctor who was called Dr. Savage. He insisted it was pronounced Sav-arge.
To make matters worse my dentist was called Dr. Blood!! They both still work in Geelong so I imagine there is a new generation of kids scared to tell their parents that they feel crook.
Hoo Roo!

my best friend's grandmother's orthopedic doctor was called greg kneebone (no kidding). needless to say, the family used to call him cracked kneebone behind his back.

This reminds me of my old friend's father's medical practice. Dr. Payne, the father of my friend, and Dr. Hertz were pediatricians who later became general practitioners because little children would come into their office all the time in tears. I'm sure that they were excellent doctors, but their names scared off all of their patients.
