Eileen I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my dear father to cancer 4 years ago and so I know how it feels to lose someone, I'm not just saying the words. You don't ever stop missing them, you just learn to live without them.
I'm not sure what to suggest for you, maybe in the future you could find a women's group like a widows association (my mother joined one) they go out for lunch, have bingo sessions and day trips out. It doesn't make up for a partner but can ease the lonliness you must feel.
In the meantime please do look after yourself. It's easy to forget to eat and not take care while out and about. Please don't make yourself ill. Have you other family/friends around, or even a pet to focus on?
I do hope you find something to ease your pain, much and a and from Ann aka Galaxy Babe
