My father was murder six days before my sixth birthday. since then i have lost count of the funerals i have been to.
I have one peice of advise. greiving is selfish but thats allowed. We cry because we will never see that person again. We have lost them. Our feelings become the most important and that is why it hurts. be selfish and give your self the chance to cry and scream and wail.
It hurts, we realise what we have lost and we want it back.
I want my dad back. The word DAD means nothing to me or my sister but a vase on a grave stone. Feels like i have been robbed and and i want it back. It6s mine and thats selfish but its allowed.
Be selfish. Its allowed.

Like it or not, you are his immortality.
You are here, live what you think he would have done. Accomplish what you think he would have done in his life, if he had been here to do it. Multiply a senseless act, and turn it into something truly amazing.
No pressure.
