A Conversation for The Colossus of Rhodes

It is actually quite fascinating to watch tourists in Rhodes harbour where the collossus is said to have stood. They look at the statues of the stag and the doe (positioned so they say where the feet of the collossus once stood) and then look up, imagining the size of the original collossus. Having spent a very pleasant afternoon in a dockside taverna watching just about every set of tourists do this action, it's nice to know that human nature will always try to imagine things as they were.

Hi Lensman I've just returned from a two-weeks holiday in Rhodos, so I can confirm your observations! The Mandraki harbour is just the place if you like to sit and watch as the world passes by...
This time I had a bit more time to wander in the Old Town of Rhodos. I loved walking through the narrow streets, imagining how it must have been in the time of the Knights of Saint John.(13th- 16th century)
So typical of me, not being here when my entry's on the first page..
