I have a good friend who has a history of self harm going back to his teenage years. He hasn't done it for about 5 years, but a few days ago he showed me fresh cuts on his arms. He said it wasn't a cry for help; we talked about it but I want to know the best way to handle the situation. I'm not going to judge him or patronise him but I just don't know how to help. I've made it plain to him that I'll always be there for him if he needs someone to talk to but he says that talking about it is a weakness.He's going through some real bad crap at the moment and I'm really worried that he will continue to cut himself and may even take his own life as he has said that he no longer has anything to live for. Please help me, I'm so scared of losing him but I don't know what to do!
