Ithe slightly Freudian idea that webeing hugged because being hugged reminds us of the peace of the womb.

Not wanting to be confrontational (we talking about hugs after all, symbols of love and pease), but what part of Freud's doctrine said we all want to be remind of the womb. Dark, cramped and being shaken about all the time; not my idea of fun.

the link isn't working; there's a reference to intra-uterine nostalgia in Chapter VI of The Interpretation of Dreams.

I wasn't saying I could remember that particular stage in my life. (I think I'm rather glad, imagine what being born must be like, not a memory I think I want) And yes I agree that would be a staggering feet of recollection. What I said was it didn't sound like much fun. I do apologise and concede your point on Freud though. But it does beg the question how can one have nostalgia for something one can't remember?

Staggering feet?
Freud and Jung had this thing about the Collective Unconscious (not like the Borg). This is a sort of memory bank for your lineage(like the Bene Gesserit).
Hope that clears it up.
