This is an entry I wrote to try and help people steer their way through the world of internet cult fan fiction, both reading it and writing it. This is a sprawling and convoluted topic, and I think that this entry is one worth adding to the guide. If even one would-be fanfic author is led by this article to seek out a beta reader before publishing their efforts on the web, then my work will have meaning.

As ever, I hope that my efforts please.

The Prophet.

Er, actually it points to your piece on Highlander.

Blast!

Specifically, it points to the edited version, because I tweaked the link in the fan fiction article to point at the now pending Highlander just before putting it forward for peer review, and I copied the wrong article number off my notepad.

Thanks for pointing that out, Cestus.

The fan fiction article is at http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A577604 (I hope). I've changed the subject line - for what that's worth - but if someone could let me know if I need to start a new thread and let this one slide into the bin.

Hey ho.

Anyway, the above link is to my article on fan fiction, which I still think has the right stuff, even if I'm no longer so sure about myself.

The Prophet.

Gnomon - time to move on

I recommend that you start a new one and request that this one be binned. It'll only cause too much problems otherwise.

OK. I've started a less confused thread at http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/F48874?thread=138650&post=1273487#p1273487 Please go there to leave comments. I now call upon the great gods of h2g2 to smite this thread, and cast it into the nethermost reaches of the sin bin. In their own time, of course. The Penitent Prophet.

Editorial Note: This conversation has been moved from 'Peer Review' to 'The Highlander Franchise and Phenomenon'.

Hi folks,

This thread was moved as it pointed to the wrong entry (i.e. not this one).
