A Conversation for Oboes

I'm "only" a recorder player - and there's enough there to keep one going for several lifetimes without changing to instruments bedecked with ironmongery - but doesn't Mozart's Quartet stand above the Sinfonia Concertante? What, if it comes to that, of his Concerto, if it can be wrenched away from the (transverse) flautists?
Incidentally, although rather cheaper than oboes, recorders still cost a bob or two; you don't get a decent treble for less that a couple of hundred pounds.

Have you tried Zen-On's plastic Bressan treble as customised by Lee Collins? He inserts a cedar-wood block into the mouthpiece and revoices the whole thing to make a beautiful treble for less than $100. Highly recommended.
