A Conversation for Buzzcocks - the Band

Very interesting story - I always liked the band when they were fresh on the radio. In fact I have "singles going steady" on tape in my car - Good music to drive to, I suppose even "orgasm addict" would be given understanding passengers, or passengers with little or no English comprehension. The tape isn't even mine it gravitated to my posession through osmosis years ago from a friend who - gasp - copied it to tape - and forgot about it. The tape has the Ramones' first album on the other side - so it is pretty awesome to drive to business meetings with or to work first thing in the morning - I hope the original owner doesn't remember and ask for it back after all these years. I will eventually feel the guilt and buy a CD re-release one day - promise.

I would (obviously) recommend buying Singles Going Steady but I've often wondered whether buying it on CD would make any appreciable difference to the sound quality. I mean, I have the LP on perfectly good vinyl and it sounds perfect (at least, it does to me).
Does punk really have a place on Compact Disc?

Punk has a place on CD - So I can play them on my hifi. I had a few drinks and went surfing on Amazon with a credit card in the other hand - I ended up buying some old Vibrators and Damned CDs I used to like. My 2yr old daughter seems to like them too - SHe naturally jumps up and down listening to it - often breaking something in the living room shortly after. Punk revival for pre-schoolers.

They all seem to be on a horizontal plane of satisfaction - no favourites - as long as the rythm goes well with jumping up and down with lots of yelling.
