dear sub editor:
I was just looking over the piece here and the phrase
"even now where these plates met..."strikes me as awkward.
I remember this came out of peer review somewherebut maybe it would read better without the first two words.
As to whether this really is a failed plate boundary, I still believe that this is the best explanation for the existance of mountains there. Hope you finish your edit sometime this fall.
Seriously though it does seem like this thing has been in the works a long time.
