Australian Mallows

There are several versions of the Chocolate Marshmallow Dome available in Australia - year round. I personally have not eaten one in several years and can't remember the company name/s. I'm sure Cadburys makes one and one of the other biscuit companies. I'll check next time in the biscuit aisle of the supermarket and get back to you. I remember there being both dark and milk chocolate versions.

Yay, for weston's wagon wheels, though I'm sure they shrank them whilst I was growing up!

You can call me TC

Oh yes... Waggon Wheels - the way that yellow paper rustled tantalisingly and they got all squishy in your school bag.

OK after some supermarket and internet searching here are my results:

Arnotts ("Not just a biscuit factory but part of Australian life") make Milk Chocolate Royals - these have raspberry flavoured mallow and a thin blob of raspberry jam on top of the soft biscuit base, the Dark Chocolate Royals have vanilla centres.

If you go to Arnotts' website you will find that they claim their Milk Chocolate Royals to be Strawberry flavoured - I just read the packet and it says Raspberry... I'm inclined to agree with the packet as it sure tasted like raspberry...

"[Royals] first appeared in the Arnott’s range as a Chocolate Strawberry Cream in 1925. Back then, these biscuits were sold in elaborate tins and had a thick
cakey base." (Arnotts website)

Sunshine make Mallow Puffs with Dark Chocolate coating and Vanilla flavoured mallow.

After consuming both varieties I believe the Vanilla flavour to be superior.
