Lost in Paris? Never!

Post 1

I will boldly make the claim that being lost in Paris isn't possible. Well, at least not between 5.30 am and 12.30 am...

Since, as the article mentions, there is an abundance of Metro stations, you're never far from one. So -- if you don't know where you are and how to get back to where you either want to be or at least to somewhere you know where is -- simply go underground, track your route to a desired destination. Et voila!

Thus, it is a good idea to start your stay in Paris by committing to memory the name of the station nearest to where you stay. And possibly also ther station(s) and the end(s) of the line on which is is situated.

And if you haven't seen it yet, I can recommend the Luc Besson movie "Subway". But that's an altogether different story!

I missed this last year!
'Subway' is a fabulous movie, by a great director. (We'll gloss over 'Joan of Arc').

I always thought that Mina was a rather decent being... smiley - winkeye

BTW - what is your take on how Subway ends? Quite a few people I know have varying opinions...

I rather like it-I have to admit that I assumed when I first saw it, and still do, that the bullet missed all vital areas and that he was playing dead to get rid of the attentions of the police and his would be assassin.

smiley - biggrin - me, too! Wouldn't put it above him, either...

Christopher Lambert plays that role so well, I think - his wicked grin made me kinda nervous for his mental well-being smiley - winkeye

It remains just about his best role-unlike Jean Reno, he failed to capitalise on his success and ended up making nonsense like Fortress 2. And yeah, I know Reno was in Godzilla, but think of the money.smiley - laugh
Although I did kind of enjoy Christopher in 'Mortal Combat'-he was so obviously just *enjoying* himself.

Haven't seen it, I'm afraid - trivial stuff like kids and such keeps me too much out of the cinema smiley - winkeye I did quite enjoy the first Highlander, though...

*should concentrate more on work - maybe even close the popupconversation thingy???*
