Professional chefs and cooks, and anyone who knows how to buy good fish know that fish don't smell, either when their alive or when they're freshly caught and killed. Dead fish only smell when they start to rot, just like people.

'They are cold-blooded vertebrates that often have an interesting odour'.. Always remember my chemistry teacher saying s'thing like, 'It's a mute point whether amines smell of fish or fish smell of amines.
