Now I liked the original entry. It was comprehensive and well-written, not a short scrappy entry. Unfortunately, as I pointed out early on it suffered from numerous broken external links.
Having posted to original author some months ago (appears to have elvised) I offer this Update to the Update Forum.
I have not just changed the broken links, but also made some minor changes to emphasis and added some of my own thoughts.

Were you able to incorporate any of the info from the threads hanging off the original? Some are mostly random comments, but a few looked as if they might have useful bits and pieces.

This is the first time I've done an update.
Will review threads, add detail, and of course the original author credit.

Not happy with the last sections on recent origami / references and biographies Amendments have made them a bit scrappy. Will post when I've revised them appropriately.

Reworked it somewhat - had to revise the history when I realised that other sources disputed the existence of early Moorish origami
Have I gone too far with the footnotes? Not just too many but also their circuitous references to the erotic use of origami
This should at least cover the notes in the threads on the original entry.

It's looking good.
I once had one of those "page a day" calendars, where each page was actually origami paper, and one side had instructions on how to make the origami of the day.
No way was I able to make all 365, however....

I'm done with this update, assuming there are no concerns from anyone else. So as and when it can be accepted as finished take it away

Gnomon - time to move on Posted Sep 7, 2004
Two things and then it is ready to go:
The paragraph on Robert Lang has been put into the section on Wetfolds. It should be somewhere else.
There is a minor typo:
for a few moment --> for a few moments

Thanks Gnomon. Amended appropriately - I've put Lang under Origami Mathematics, paraphrasing a line from his site about his cross-discipline work (though to be fair most creative origami makers appear to have a keen interest in the mathematics that can be derived or applied to folding)

That looks good, Pimms. This is ready now, I'd say, for the editors to come and do their magic.
