A Conversation for HRH Prince Philip - Duke of Edinburgh
HRH - Chancellor of Cambridge University

The Duke became Chancellor of Cambridge University in 1977, further reflecting his interest in the devlopment of young people. The University's appreciation was expressed by the Vice Chancellor, Prof Alison Richard, at a dinner in April 2007 to mark the 30th anniversary of his appointment.
"His perspicacity surfaces frequently, and often in unexpected and amusing ways. How better could one recount the weighty matter of University governance, for example, than through a remark of the Chancellor's recounted to me by a colleague: 'I'm not the Chancellor of a biscuit factory, and I'll stop if we move in that direction.'? Chancellor, you needn't stop."
This is another great example of his active involvement with a very significant institution in public life being sustained over a very long period.

Absolutely wonderful!
Thank you for sharing that with us, strathspey10
I know we must have only touched 'the tip of the iceburg' with this biography. Prince Philip has done so much more than most of us think.
lil xx
