Just for the record the funding for the mill refurbishment came from the following sources
*the mill owners (Heaton and Houldsworth Property Company)
*Northern Counties Housing Association (and Housing Corporation)
*English Partnerships
*European Regional Development Fund
*Stockport Council
*Various anchor tenants, (including Ridge Danyers College and Kingfisher Pools)
There was no funding for the refurbishment from English Heritage although they did part-fund the original feasibility study and offered advice throughout the process.

Hello, I wanted to write regarding the Shopping Village which is mentioned in your story about Houldsworth Mill, there are still a large number of small traders in the mill : A Furniture Shop, The Bookshop, Friends, Millies, Aladins, A Wool Shop, CJ Miniatures (Dolls House Supplies) Aromatherapy and Bath Products , Computer Repairs, Gothic Angel, Enchanted World (Pagan & Wiccan Suppies & Tarot Readings) and of course the Old Mill Cafe. There is still a Table Top Sale every Sunday.
Open from Tuesdays through to Sunday 10 - 4
Perhaps your web site could be updated to allow people to know that these places are up and running and all in a very unique and calming shopping experience in a Tudor Style Village.
Thank you
