I came up with the answer 'urine' As the next letter is 'P' 
I have a lot to learn about cryptic crosswords. But have started having a go at one most days at work.
Now dont snear but I like the SUN cryptic as it is not beyond me to get at least half. I tear it out of somebody elses paper or download it off the web.
