If you want to see the 54 WC from a different perspective check out the German film, Das Wonder von Berne (The Wonder of Berne). It's a great story about a kid following his local player from rural Germany all the way to the final. Along the way we get to see the coach Adi Dasler - later to form Adidas (the first boots with changeable studs).
From this WC, Germany has it's own version of "They think it's all over...". In the last minutes of extra time the commentator is heard to say something like, "Keiner wankt" - "nobody stumbles". (Sounds a bit rude to the English ear, I know.) He then goes on to commentate on the winning goal.
