How could you forget about Satie's Vexations. Short bit of music, to be repeated 840 times. Interesting stuff.

Do not feel vexed it was nor forgotten ...In an effort to Sati(e)sfy a range of tastes, I only included some of his works. Yes - vexations is "fun" (in a Satie way) .... I also like his childrens' pieces .... but couldn't list everything in a short entry.

I am intrigued by this history. I have enjoyed listening to his music with great ignorance of his character and I now better understand his distinction against contemporaries such as Debussy (who's music I will never tire of either). I have listened to the most recognised pieces mentioned - What about the children's pieces - would you recommend any for young listeners?

So many people think Satie wrote 'beautiful' stuff like the G'nopedies yet they don't know anything at all about the radical stuff he wrote like Relache or Vexations or the like. Shouldn't giving a broader range make the whole picture more tangible?

I reckon all his music is radical ...the dreaded Gyms just happen to be easy lisatening as well ... and yes - children identify very easily with Satie's pieces because they don't know there are meant to be rules ... they hear the sound pictures clearly.
