What you didn't mention there was dandruff is a modern term and as such didn't actually exist until the late 70's and early 80's. There is no such thing as dandruff, it's just dead skin. It's another one of these things created by marketing people to make the normal folk paranoid.

Washing the hair with cooled redbush (rooibos) tea before the final rinse is a very effective dandruff treatment.
