A Conversation for Camille Saint-Saens - the Composer

Hi, Seth!
This may already be too late if the entry is nearly through the editing process, but I thought I'd point it out in case you were able to do something about it.
Because you have carefully used the correct punctuation all through the entry, searching on "Saint-Saens" without the whatsit mark won't actually find your article, so I think people might easily miss it. Is it possible to mention that it's sometimes spelt "Saint-Saens" by people in a hurry, just to catch the search function?
Also, a search on "opera" finds Strauss, Wagner, Mozart, Beethoven, Ravel, Purcell etc. but not Saint-Saens because you don't seem to have used the word opera anywhere in the text - I see that you called his operas "dramatic works". Again, a use of the word "opera" somewhere would mean more chance of the entry being found by interested searchers.
Just a thought!

Wrist well slapped, Azara!
No excuses but Guide ML could well do with the keywords stack you can bundle into an HTML page. I've been working in a French speaking country so that, my psychotic hang-up about spelling, and way too much midday sun have clearly had a disturbing effect. I'm about to move back to Nigeria. Yoruba has 17 distinct vowels. Straight-jacket?
PS Do Azara do ok in a moist acid clay?

Hi, Seth!
I was conscious of the accented letters problem because the only ones I can do offhand are the é, á etc ones which I use a lot in typing Irish names. I debated whether to look up the proper umlaut, accent grave and others and then reckoned that most people wouldn't use them, and therefore a search would miss them. Of course the sub-editors may be more scrupulous!
My apologies for posting that all over the place - I still get confused as to where to send comments, so I made a similar post on the Editorial comments converstion.
As to Azaras, like a lot of New Zealand shrubs they seem to like a mild, moist climate. I don't think the acid soil would be a problem (my own soil is neutral) but I'm not sure about the clay.

How do you do that in the forums? Do you switch keyboard font or something?
It's easy in Guide ML. A266951 has a listing of all the special symbols so the e diaeresis that should appear in Saint-Saens is given by ë etc.

To get the á, é etc I just use what I use everywhere - the ctrl-alt-vowel combination. I can't remember at what level it's built in but so far it's worked wherever I've tried it.

Hi all!
Could it be that this entry never was submitted to the Peer Review? I fail to locate an Edited version, nor does there seem to be a thread around
This *is* Guide stuff!

Hi Bossel, and thanks. This entry is part of an h2g2 University Project (comprising some 8 entries in all), so it will be sub-edited & accepted through that channel, and will not go through Peer Review. Glad you like it!

Sorry about that! It's been around a while, hasn't it? Yes ... the author for the last of the entries was away for ages. We've agreed that I'll complete it ...at which point the project is finished! Yay! .
