Other web sites are trying to set themselves up as discussion forums for Life, the Universe, and Everything. Some sites are even trying to establish expertise in these areas. Yahoo's an example, and a particularly poor one. But nothing does it as well as the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
This entry had the dubious distinction of making it into the Edited Guide the day Douglas Adams died. I dedicate it in his honor.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
