Dear John T.G.,
I was wondering if you could put the final paragraph in the first section (about brand names and culture) back in the footnote where it was originally. The last line of the second paragraph "...and it has been that way for over seventy years." is the lead-in line to the history section, and sticking in the paragraph about brand names at the end of the section as it is reads too much like an afterthought. If you don't want to put the paragraph in as a footnote, you could just omit it entirely: it's just me being a who-asked-you smarta** anyway.
Also, why was the link to the George Orwell page omitted? Just curious.
Thanks,
Dr. F.

Hi Dr F,
I changed the footnote because I thought it supported the idea of 'muzac' v 'Muzac' rather nicely, and it seemed a waste to relegate it to footnote status. As a rule I try to work fairly lengthy footnotes into the main text whenever possible. Often it's a case of finding a spot for a good idea. But, if you think that was the wrong thing to do in this instance, I'll see what can be done about making the changes you suggest.
The reason I omitted the link to the Orwell page is that it didn't directly expand on the idea of "orwellian". Most readers would no doubt understand the term; but, in the context of your article, I didn't think it contributed anything of value; and the reference to George Orwell and his work seemed a little tangential.
Fine article, by the way.

JTG,
Re: footnote: if it can go in the footnote, cool. If not, hey, it's not the end of the world.
Re: Orwell: You're right, it's quite tangential. *blush* I just got a little link-happy.
Thanks for putting up with a nosy Researcher.
Dr. F.
