Beside the four branches ofthe Mabinogi ( Pwyll, Branwen, Manawydan, Math), the Mabinogion is often published with four other native tales: The Dream of Macsen Wledig, Lludd and Llefelys, Culhwch and Olwen, The dream of Rhonabwy.
In Culhwch and Olwen, Arthur is there. And Culhwch and Olwen's style seems to indicate, according to Gwyn Jones, that it's the oldest tale, older even than the mabinogi...
Besides he is there in some mabinogi too, after all: Bran is called "Uther Ben". And we know whose father Uther Bendragon is... It's only a suppositon, but several hints can lead us to draw large parallels between the Briton's Pantheon resulting from the Mabinogion and the characters of the Arthurian Cycle... For instance Math seen as Myrddin = Merlin...

Well, I bow to your superior knowledge.
Would you like to take on this particular entry? My familiarity with the Mabinogion is limited to what I could find online, and I'm a little dubious about the veracity of some of it. I'd be more than happy if you could expand this entry beyond its current unfinished and humble state.

Well come on! it ain't any superior knowledge. I happen to have read the book, and another one about it...
OOOhh It's raining here, suddenly.
Woa. It all grew dark and a strong rainnoise grew....)
Well well where was I....
Oh yeah. If you want I can do a bit about the Mabinogion and what it represents in the context of gaelic pantheon and what it represents in the context of the Arthurian legend. I'm afraid it will be a bit dull... I can write it for Monday? Is it by you?

Next week I have to start preparing my exams, so it will be either before, on Monday, either after the exams, in June... I'd prefer the first one and I'll try that, but otherwise...
