Its a well written entry but what a suprise to see the date and time all this Germanic frivolity kicks off . The eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month . So when we are all standing in silence rembering the dead of war , they are having a party . Bit sick IMO.

The tradition dates back to heathen times - it's mentioned in the entry.
Just because remembrance day isn't on 11th November in Germany, doesn't mean we don't have any:
