A Conversation for Films Based on Books

The one thing that drives me nuts...

...aren't movies that leave bits out (even if the bit is a personal favorite), or movies that add bits. I understand the reasons behind both actions. What I cannot _stand_ is when a movie *rearranges* the content of the book! smiley - groan (or maybe even smiley - grr) Two examples that immediately come to mind are Little Women (the recent one with Winona Ryder as Jo) and Clan of the Cave Bear, with Daryl Hannah as Ayla. With Clan, especially, I said over and over, 'That doesn't happen then!' I was watching at home, so I said it quite loudly. I could very much understand leaving things out (after all, the book is 600+ pages) but rearranging the events?!?

Anyway, rant over now... I feel much better...smiley - smiley
