Why should I have to pay someone to find the love of my life? The most successful service online are supposedly devoted to helping the user find his/her soulmate....... all for a nominal fee, or course. I have no problem with paying for my dates (on the SERIOUSLY rare occassion that they actually exist), but why should I have to pay someone to help me find happiness? My friend or brother tries to hook me up with one of their lady friends (hypothetically of course), and all they want is to see a smile on my lips. All these online service want are cold hard cash for exploiting the poor saps who have as much luck with women as pencils have singing opera.

Tend to agree, but the point is there are many free sites out there.
The one I met my now wife on is free. Our best mate met his now fiance on the same site.
When I was writing this entry there were several around. BBC rules mean I cannot paste a proper link but try midsummerseve it is a dot com I beleive - sure you can pay for extras but the free service is good.
Whilst you are right that making cash is the main role ofmost of these sites, the people behind them do seem to care - some more than others. I had several emails with the creators of the site mentioned plus another one, where I helped out with some site feedback, and they do seem to care about what they are doing - honest.
You seem to have made your mid up - shame - these sites can work - apart from myself and friend mentioned, we know of many more successes.
The entry is a bit out of date now I am sure - but the concepts will remain the same.

Well, thank you very much for the suggestion, but I'm not Irish or English. So far I've only been able to find ONE free online service that applies to California, and no one ever talked to me.

OK, my mission then is to find a free, decent US based, service. I'm sure there is one out there.
