A Conversation for Stairs
Bad editing

I spotted this annoying mistake while reading this rather excellent edited entry. After reading previous conversations related to the entry I also read the original and found out that the mistake is the result of bad editing. The mistake in question occurs in the section on Phantom stairs, under the sub-heading 'How It Works', in the sentence that goes like this:
"They are unconsciously expecting their foot to stop at some set distance above or below where it started, but it fails to stop."
This is an incomplete attempt to put both the descending and ascending phantom stair in one sentence, as in the case of the descending phantom stair to foot does not _fail_ to stop, but stops too soon.
All in all I have to agree with previous posters, this entry has been overedited.

Hi NAITA,
We've restored the paragraph from the original entry, whcih we hope makes it a little easier to understand.
