Animal Antics

It isn't the 'silly season' in the newspapers this week, but there have been a few bizarre stories concerning animals.
The saddest has to be from Louisiana where police shot dead an ostrich after the bird attacked and killed a 90 year old farmer and critically injured his 86 year old wife.
A llama snarled up traffic when it escaped from a Hertfordshire farm. An off-duty policeman caught it and tethered it with his dog lead... the llama was unavailable for comment later, but was said to be spitting mad!
More fun for the officers of the law in Devon, England: Police saw the funny side after the musical antics of a pet parrot were mistaken as a cry for help. Freddy the Amazonian blue-fronted parrot was singing along to the radio at his home in Combe Martin. A passer-by mistook his squawking for somebody in distress, and promptly called in the police.Freddies' owner said:
'He just likes hearing music and he screeches along with it!'
