The subeditor made some mistakes on this article.

The Lewis and Clark expedition timeline ran from 1804-1806, NOT 1904 as stated in the footnote.

The author's name is Norman Maclean, lowercase l, NOT MacLean. This may not seem like an important issue, but Maclean himself wrote about it in a number of works. The lowercase l is indicative of a Highland Scots origin, as opposed to Lowland Scots. The Maclean family was VERY proud of this fact. I would hate to "slur" the family origins here.

AND it's *Captain* William Clark, NOT Lieutenant.

Can you tell I'm pissed yet?

The typos have been corrected by TPTB, but I think you'll find that Clark was a lieutenant - see the forum "A Question of Rank".

I noted that in the footnote, both Lewis and Clark are listed as captains.
And I must say, that long sentence in the middle of the section on the university, the one with all the semi-colons? NOT a sentence. Whew, that's some fragment.

My corrections were already addressed before today's Guide appearance. If you look at the dates above, you'll note these comments occurred a couple of weeks ago...

I'm not responsible for that sentence.

well, I would assume NOT. What are you doing for lunch today? I have the day off, and have to run errands this afternoon down your way, and I thought, well, I will see what the Fraulein is doing for her noontime sustenance...

Now wait a cotton-pickin' minute. That IS my sentence. It's a listing of the amenities Missoula offers attracting noted individuals to our fair city. Not what's based out of the U. That IS my style. And if you think it sucks, than consider your birthday invite recinded!

I go to lunch at one. I was going to go to Rockin' Rudy's and do a little shopping. Our office is in the middle of moving and everything's hectic. I need some time to get away, calm down, etc. Meaning I need new CDs!

No, no, no. It is not your sentence. It is the one you were telling me about a while back. It has no verb, and I know you. You would NOT write a sentence like that, because when you were looking at my paper, you corrected something just like it. I just can't see it. And the writing doesn't READ like your writing. It's like the editor took two or three sentences and just strung them together. But would you like company for lunch or no? I could pick you up, if you like.
